Traditional shared hosting permits various sites on the same physical machine to use the same web server that will be used by each site.
Shared hosting uses the same web and mail server, and unites in the same space that data from different Web sites. This environment could be vulnerable in that an incident on one site may potentially have repercussions over the entire machine and other sites.

Virtuozzo technology permits partitioning of a physical server into various isolated private servers separate from each other.
Each private servers acts exactly as if it was a real dedicated system, with its own sets of scripts, users, processes, etc. and has access to it’s own memory and hard disks (virtual).
With a VPS you have root access, user management, the possibility to install and use particular software applications, being able to enjoy your own personalised system libraries. This is only possible due to the fact that the VPS is a virtual instance of the Linux machine.
UDespite this, direct access to the real system is impossible.

The Virtuozzo resources are administrated by a QoS system (quality of service) that guarantees each Virtual Private Server its own memory and processor quota, that no other VPS con access or use.
The QoS permits the use of a group of sufficient resources to launch its applications, resources that you can increase by sections.

Virtuozzo is supported in the Linux operating system that permits both the instancing of Linux systems and the installation of other operating systems. The VPS commercialised in Amen at the moment offer only Linux versions based on the RedHat distribution. A set of services and applications is preinstalled by default like Webalizer, MySQL, PhpMyAdmin, Plesk etc...
In addition, the immense majority of applications can be installed on the VPS Virtuozzo Linux without any modification. Clients can install for example Oracle, DB / 2, Weblogic, Websphere as all as other commercial applications. The applications and services don’t require a specific Virtuozzo configuration which differentiates it from certain other virtual servers that use other technologies.
The great advantage of Virtuozzo is to have a set of installable applications via the Plesk interface in the form of rpms.
